Evo Designer Showcase
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 26, 2010) – Premiering on Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th, Evo, L.A.’s only LEED-Silver high-rise residence, will transform its 20th floor into five exquisite living spaces featuring designs from some of L.A.’s elite interior design experts.
Participating designers include:
- Daniel Vandenbark – a well-known designer who uses the essence of architecture to blend creative and environmental design ideas.
- Mark Cutler Design – one of Robb Report’s “Top 40” firms in the country, Mark Cutler Design, Inc. blends the fundamentals of building and design into elegant reflections of his clients.
- Room & Board – is a leader of lifestyle home furnishings that are simple, modern, and sustainable. The design team from Room & Board will use Room & Board branded pieces along with the iconic pieces by Eames, Noguchi, Saarinen and George Nelson, to fit the design aesthetics of Evo.
- David Desmond – an internationally recognized interior designer based in Los Angeles. His projects reflect the past through a modern prism, and distinguish themselves by restrained luxury, meticulous attention to detail and superlative craftsmanship.
- Modern Home + Living Magazine – the premiere modern celebrity lifestyle brand will provide a window into the up-close-and-personal world of all facets of celebrity living.
- “The goal is to enlighten Angelenos about modern luxury living in a high-rise. High-rise living is still a new concept to most L.A. residents, and many aren’t accustomed to designing for that type of space. We decided to create beautiful models to provide them with expert examples of the best in design for modern high-rise luxury living,” stated Evo’s Sales and Marketing Director Rhonda Slavik.
The completed residences of each of the designers will not only serve as useful model high-rise homes, but will also accentuate the inherent beauty of EVO by highlighting it’s magnificent architectural bones and breathtaking views.
According to Slavik, Evo’s Designer Showcase will provide an excellent opportunity to fulfill future residents’ desire to learn more about designing a luxury residence.
Tips and tricks from participating designers include:
- One bold shot of color can set the tone of an entire space. For example, painting one wall red in an entry hallway creates a strong first impression of warmth, welcome and intrigue.

- Instead of using one large coffee table, try using a collection of smaller ones grouped together. They can be the same or vastly different styles, but either way, the grouping really creates a powerful point of interest and gives you plenty of flexibility when you’re entertaining.

- If you have a spectacular view, make it become part of the room. Keep furnishings simple.
