Bice – NYC

Location
In the midst of these changing times there is an Italian restaurant that thrives on change. It is a blend of business and creative ingenuity. Much like the restaurant’s location itself, roughly between department stores, chic boutiques, and the Theatre District. It is a hub of international acclaim. This branch of traditional Italian restaurant is rooted in 1926 Milan; and continues the legacy of freshly made pasta, homemade bread, and hearty meals.
interior
Created by internationally renowned designer Adam Tihany, the interior of BiCE is visually intriguing, to say the least, as the room is a qualitative work of art. The French door entrance serves as a gateway to the two-level main dining area, where original paintings, by various Italian artists of the 1930’s, suspend on the walls all around poised for customers viewing, and ceiling slopes transform essential lighting into a work of art; in its own right. From the floor, to seating, and the beams overhead, a wooden finish infuses the room with a sense of craftsmanship at every turn. Additionally, placed bouquets of flowers breathe life into the open, yet personal atmosphere.
customers
An atmosphere that is friendly, and never low on customers. However, with a dress code that calls for elegant-casual attire, even the customers are able to join and participate in the restaurant’s quality of standards. With a frequent flow of clients feeding their sophisticated tastes, the weekends can be the busiest for this Italian hot spot as reservations made in advance are the best way to guarantee a seat, whether it is a romantic rendezvous or casual hangout.

food
BiCE is full of diversity and the food it serves is no exception, as the chef’s technical prowess and cooking creativity are demonstrated and expressed in a daily menu that adapts with the times. The Lobster Tagliolini pasta is simply beautiful; served in a lobster reduction, fresh wild mushrooms emanate a pungent aroma that combines with the visual appeal of juicy cherry tomatoes to set the stage for the first bite of lobster bliss.
Veal Milanese, a soft and tender strip of veal encapsulated in a firm and slim crumb coat of breaded oregano seasoning, is served with a bed of fresh basil and marinated tomatoes.
Pounded thin and breaded to perfection the veal is a must. With Cheesecake, made on location, chilled slices are ready to serve with a side of Italian vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce.
